VFW senior meals find new home
After approximately 20 to 25 senior citizens attended Crandon’s City Council meeting on Wednesday, the council agreed to allow the senior meals that were previously held at the Crandon Youth and Senior Center, otherwise known as the VFW building, to be moved into city hall.

According to the vice president of the Crandon Youth and Senior Center, Jim Gunderson, between forty and ninety people take advantage of the food and socialization featured at the VFW senior meals. READ MORE >

Cook to reveal ‘the mystery behind a great mystery’
The Rhinelander District Library kicks off its 2009 Author Series on Monday, July 20, with “An Evening of Mystery” with Wisconsin author Marshall Cook. The program begins at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served. Cook is the author of the popular Monona Quinn Mystery Series and is teaching at the Rhinelander School of the Arts.
