11 questions with the principal
As the school year begins, Terry Fondow talks a bit about himself

Terry Fondow became the principal of Rhinelander High School earlier this summer after the departure of Mike Werbowsky. Today, he welcomes the first class that will graduate under his watch.

To introduce Fondow to the community, The Daily News asked the new principal a few questions. Here are his answers:

2. Hometown: Born in Merrill, raised in Green Bay

3. Education: B.S. United States Coast Guard Academy; Master of Science, U.W. Madison; Post-Master graduate work at U.W. Madison, U.W. Milwaukee, U.W. Superior

4. Work experience: checkered - trouble holding a job; Coast Guard officer; merchant seaman; bar-tender; leaf raker; sailing instructor; cross country skiing instructor; yacht charter and delivery; prison recreation director; group home worker; science teacher; Kimberly-Clark human resources associate; associate principal; athletic director; principal; pool boy at a racket club; bowling pin setter; bus boy; paper delivery boy

5. Most looking forward to: The first day of school

8. Most memorable high school moment: Being told by my Latin teacher that I needed to change my act because it would not fly at the high school.
