This is the last full week of vacation for our children before school starts the day after Labor Day! I'm glad I never made a list of what jobs I wanted to get done this summer because I probably would not have checked anything off. Our family has traveled and hosted all summer but I am really looking forward to completing all those projects this fall in the cool autumnal days.

Oneida County Tourism Council is sponsoring an "Oneida County Definition Contest" going on now through August 31. Enter today by going to www.oneidacountywi.com and go to O.C. Interactive Definition Contest. This contest encourages all of us to come up with definitions of what our Northwoods area means to us.

There will be a rummage sale at the First Congregational Church on Larch Street as well as the Stella Town Hall on Highway C in Starks. Remember, "One person's junk is another's treasure!"

There is a photo contest, which ends September 30, so be sure to submit your HODAG photos. Kids can log on for coloring pages and to create their own Hodag stories.
