Earl Schilling Memorial Art Show on display in Crandon

The Crandon Public Library is proud to announce the Second Annual “Earl Schilling” Memorial Art Show to be held on Sat. and Sun., November 18-19. The art show will be open to the public, free of charge, with hours on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Some of the local artists who will be presenting are: Julian Faledas, Bram Faledas, Laurie Renel-Faledas, Jolynn Pfeiffer, Bobby Pfeiffer, Tim Leonardelli, Jeanne Stranz, Rose West, Roger Geldon, Judy McKay-Burkey, Margaret Boodry, Amy (Sipple) Kampetra, Susan Sommer, Herb Rosio, Jackie Hurley, Shirley Mueller, Richard Carter, Brian Keepers, Roxanne Spreke, Carley Flanery, Krista Kegley, Rocky, Melanie Thoreen and Megan Sprenger. We have everything from paintings in watercolor and oil, to abstract paintings, pottery, precious metal jewelry, photographic images, and on Saturday, our very own, Rose Schuemann, a spinner, is going to give us a live demonstration of her talent for us.

There will also be refreshments and a special recipe for apple cider by Joan Roland.

Understanding the election results (11.15.2006)
The first thing to be noted about Tuesday's election returns is that they were not, in any serious sense, a Democratic victory. They were, however, a thoroughgoing Republican defeat. The Democrats had practically nothing to do with it. They had no policy proposals to speak of - least of all on Iraq, which they insisted was the central issue.
