Band workshop next week

The annual beginning band workshop will be held Monday, August 21 through Thursday August 24, for James Williams Middle School incoming sixth grade students who are registered for band.

The workshop will take place in the band room at the Middle School.

The schedule for each day is as follows: Percussion 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., Flutes & Oboes 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Clarinets/Bassoons 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Alto & Tenor Saxophones 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Trumpets & French Horns 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., Trombones, Baritones & Tubas 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Students will receive their instruments on their first day. Students who own their instrument should bring it the first day. Students will also need to buy the Essential Elements 2000, Plus DVD, Book 1. Some rental packages already include this book, which the workshop instructor will have with your instrument. All others will need to purchase this book by Tuesday.

There will be a sign on door #16 identifying the workshop. The band room is the second door on the left as you enter the building.
