A new 15-mile, 115 kV electrical transmission line should be built between Monico and the Crandon/Laona area to handle the area's increased demand for electrical power, according to a spokeswoman for American Transmission Company (ATC).

If approved by the state regulatory agency, the new line could be in service by mid 2007. Costs for the new line may range upward of $10 million.
